Frequently Asked Questions
Should I buy 1 or 2 hearing aids?
In general terms if you're experiencing some form of hearing loss in both ears (also known as binaural hearing loss), it makes sense to use 2 hearing aids.
Current research shows (please provide links to research) that it is preferential to use 2 hearing aids in this case.
If costs are a concern, the general rule of thumb is that it is better to buy a cheaper pair of hearing aids than to buy just 1 more expensive hearing aid.
How are your prices so low?
Other hearing aid clinic offer "free" consultations to attract customers. To offer these "freebies", and cover the cost of their overheads, the prices of their hearing aids are significantly higher.
At Hearing Exchange you only pay for your hearing aids and services, without subsidising the so-called "free" services of other clinics.
Our prices are typically 30% - 50% lower than recommended audiologist prices.
We cut our overheads by operating out of affiliated health care providers across Australia, and pass these savings on to you.
We also have great relationships with the world's leading suppliers of hearing aids and through buying in bulk you can buy hearing aids at unbelievable prices.
Will you try to sell me the most expensive hearing aid?
Most audiologists make up too $6000 profit on high end hearing aids as opposed to $1000 on basic hearing aids. Not at Hearing Exchange, we have equitable profit on each unit.
So no, we won't sell you something that you don't need.
The only incentive that we have is to help you get the best value hearing aids for your needs.
With our online Most features listed under each aid description. Client can choose based on criteria and comparison. Online questionnaire/test will make suggestions, but not obliged to take up. All hearing aids have similar dollar markups to cover costs.
